The End – Just A New Beginning

We accomplished our goal of finding the Weydt Family on their native soil!  What a fantastic journey it was.

Ralf & Duke ham it up before we depart from Berlin.

The journey back to Frankfurt – hmmm…the kids are riding first class on a speedy train while the adults have to dodge traffic and inclement weather.  At least we have Ralf and his trusty VW to deliver us in style.

Back home in Frankfurt.  Sofia, Ricky, Sam & Hana being silly on their last night together.  Yes, Sam is wearing a Flamingo costume – I’m pretty sure it is some obscure German or Italian tradition.

We were asked what we considered to be the highlight of our visit to Germany.  Yes, the country is beautiful, but hands down, the best part was spending time with our German/Italian “family.”  The Weydt family welcomed us in style and went above and beyond with their hospitality.  Anyone can visit Germany (and we highly recommend it), but we were particularly blessed to have the opportunity to experience the country through the eyes of a family who lives there.  We are thrilled that the next generation is getting the opportunity to cross-borders and make friends for a lifetime!  Thank you Weydt family for your kindness and your love.

Now, we look forward to our next adventure with the Weydts – Peru?  Galapagos?  Iceland?

P.S.  Ralf recovered nicely from the Christmas gift incident and presented Laura with her Cuba calendar (the last one left).
