New Years Eve in Berlin

A relaxing day in Berlin with some sightseeing – including a visit to a memorial for the Berlin Wall.

A traditional German New Years Eve Dinner?  Sushi and Pizza!  We loved our little flat on Torstraße – perfect for playing Werewolf (a new card game introduced to us by our German/Italian family).  A couple of hints – Sofia is usually the Werewolf, Ricky is usually a Peasant, Ralf’s skills as a lawyer make him suspicious no matter what character he is, and Tracee can’t bluff.

Frohe neues Jahr!

100,000 people gathered around the Brandenburg Gate ready for fireworks!

Ralf has a sure fire way of clearing out the crowd – light fireworks in the middle of everyone!  Seriously, Ralf and hundreds of others were lighting off fireworks in the middle of the massive crowd.  We were dodging bottle rockets and fountains all night long – it sounded like World War 3 – another fine German tradition.

A fun way to ring in 2017 – definitely an experience we will never forget.
