A fun morning running along the river Neckar and then exploring historic Heidelberg

Of course, we had to stop at the Schloss (castle) Heidelberg before we left to see the worlds largest wine barrel – it has actually been filled with wine & holds over 220,000 liters – take that corn palace & largest ball of twine.

Lots of history in Heidelberg – especially for you literature lovers – Mark Twain was even impressed enough to visit when he wrote A Tramp Abroad. I’ve been trying some Goethe, but so far, I find Werther to be quite a whiny and narcissistic bore.
